Characteristics of the project:

The submitted project proposal responds to a longstanding international problem of high number of false products on the market and growing trend of direct annual losses from infringement of intellectual property rights of the trade mark owners and legitimate producers of the goods. Besides, these products, in most cases, do not meet requirements for health protection, safety and quality and therefore are harmful to health. The project proposal focuses on protection of fibre, textile and clothing products against counterfeit and ensuring their authenticity and originality by application of photoluminescent dyestuffs and pigments whose optical excitation creates an individual spectral pattern on detection, which allows distinct authentification of the product. Goal of the project is development and introduction of an innovative technology for manufacture of polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA) and biodegradable polylactide (PLA) fibres using progressive polymer dispersions (concentrates) containing special protective photoluminescent pigment or dyestuff and verification of their application in selected assortments of textile and clothing products. Results of the project should contribute to increasing protection level and reducing infringement of intellectual property rights of the manufacturers and trade mark owners in the Slovak Republic and abroad by implementation of products protected by the identification protective elements created from photoluminescent fibres integrated directly into construction of clothing and textile products.
