Basic information:

Project title: Research of influence of low-temperature plasma on enhancement of surface finish permanency of textile materials using nanosols “PLAZ-NANO-TEX”
Identification number of the project: APVV-14-0518
Duration of the project: 07/2015 – 12/2017
Applicant: Polymer Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava
Co-operating institution: VÚTCH-CHEMITEX, spol. s r.o., Žilina
Responsible investigator for VÚTCH: Ing. Dana Rástočná Illová, PhD.

Characteristics of the project:

Project objective is study and research of relationships between effects caused by low-temperature plasma (e.g. formation of free radicals) on initiated surface of textile materials from synthetic fibres and/or their blends and a type of surface finish applied on a fabric using nanosol. It focuses on creating conditions to increase permanency of the nanocoating, using hydrophobic, hydrophilic, electroconductive and antimicrobial nanosols, after textile care (washing, dry cleaning etc). Another goal of the research project was to study conditions for multifunctional surface finish of textiles with the purpose to improve their performance characteristics and end-use properties.
